Rise Up

Rise Up and Take Your Position.

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. John 5:8

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:192

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”  2 Chronicles 20:17

Introduction

I know in a previous article I briefly discussed this story in John 5:8. However, I find it useful again for this topic. Here is a man who has been in the same condition for 38 years just lying there. Jesus said to the man “Rise, take up your bed and walk.

Too many of us feel beaten down and do not want to get up. You feel like the world is closing on you. You do not have money to pay your rent or mortgage. You do not have any money to pay your school fees or even buy groceries. Consequently, you feel like staying in your bed not getting up because you do not want to face the glimpse of reality. You do not want anyone to see or hear about your condition. Some of you may also be considering taking your life away.

I am here to remind you today that God has a purpose for you and that he knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb. I also want to remind you that God has given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Therefore, Rise up out of that condition, use your authority and take your position.

Rise Up

If you keep laying down and not doing anything to improve your situation then you will remain in your condition. For example, if you want something from the fridge and you are home by yourself, you cannot get that item from the fridge by just laying down. You have to get up and go to the fridge and get what you need. Laying down in a position will cause people to walk over you and trample on you. However, if you rise up and take your position, no one will have the upper hand on you because you got up.

Fathers, rise up and take your position as fathers. Do not allow the mothers to raise the children by themselves. Rise up and take responsibility as fathers to your children.

Christians, do not remain in the same state you are. Rise Up, and read the word. Some of you have been called to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4:11). Rise up and take your position.

Some of you have a desire to be politicians. Rise Up and take your position. Do not be intimidated by present and former politicians and their supporters. If you believe that is your calling, pursue it.

In the book of 2 Kings 7:3-10, there were four lepers who were dying. However, they talked among themselves and said why sit here until they die. They arose and went to Syria to get food to eat. Many of you are dying physically, spiritually and mentally and you have given up just waiting until your time. Rise up and get what you need to live.

How to Rise Up?

Pray – Talk to God about your condition on a daily basis. Talk back to him with the word of God. Based on my experience, when you are talking with God, you will have a peaceful sprit in your surrounding and that alone will motivate you to get up.

Have Faith – Do not look at your present condition and then panic over it. God has plans to prosper you not hurt you. If you keeping sitting down not doing anything, your plans will not come to fruition. Take up your position in faith knowing that God says he will never leave your nor will he forsake you.

Remember he deliver you before – I believe many of you have had several conditions in the past in which you thought you would never be delivered from. However, God delivered you before and he can deliver you again. He is the same God, yesterday, today and forever.

Get Knowledge – Study the area that you believe that you are position to take over. Equip yourself wit as much knowledge as possible. This will boost your confidence in rising up take your position.

Do a self-evaluation – I believe everyone has something that they possess that can be used as a stepping stone to occupy the position God has ordained for you. Once you realize what you possess, rise up, go in faith and take your position. David had experience as a shepherd boy; he had faith, killed Goliath and eventually became King. In 2 Kings 4, the widow just had a jar of oil but Elisha told her to get some empty jars from her neighbours and she was able to have more than enough. You may have some things that you can sell even if it is yard sale. I know many of us have things we are not using and we do not have any money then sell them or lease them. Some of you have a big home you are not using, rent it and move into a smaller place. All of you have some inherent talents that you can invest in and cultivate eventually making some money from them. Perhaps some of you have not read your bible in a long time. The answers are right there. Read it. God said that he will supply your needs according to his riches in Glory. Rise Up and Take Your Position.

Conclusion

You do not have to remain in the present state you are in. Stop sitting down on an idea. Write the vision down, pursue it by rising up and taking your position. Be Bold, Be Strong, Be Courageous for the Lord Thy God is with You. Rise Up.
