“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert[a]! You do not know when that time will come.” Mark 13:32-33
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:3
How long, Lord, must I
call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do
not save. Habakkuk 1:2
Introduction
I know some of us are wondering if it is normal to ask God how long must we wait for our breakthroughs. Well the Prophet Habakkuk cried out to God complaining to God that the people were not being saved from the violence, injustice and wrong doing that were being done to them. Therefore, I think it is a valid question we can ask God but rest assured it is just a matter of time before your breakthrough takes place. All you have to do is to be alert and to be careful for the devil will do all he can to create doubts in your beliefs. Furthermore, be patient and endure your circumstances for it is a just a matter of time.
Jesus is coming soon – It is just a matter of time
I know that you have heard for years that Jesus Christ is coming soon. I know when I was a teenager in the 80s, I used to hear people say Jesus was coming soon and now thirty years he has not return as yet. The truth of the matter is, his return is closer than we think as things are unfolding in our midst that were prophesized long time ago in the Bible. Nations are rising against nations, there is an increase in earthquakes, people are lovers of themselves and lovers of pleasures more than God. Furthermore, this world that we live in does not appear to be getting any better so be ready for the coming of the return of Jesus. It is just a matter of time. Do not procrastinate in being ready for we do not know what tomorrow brings. Live each day as if Jesus is returning the same day.
How Long Lord? – It is just a matter of time
I know one of the top questions many of you asked God is “How long? Sometimes we wonder if God is hearing our cry and will he ever come to our rescue. I know some of us have been praying for years for a breakthrough but it looks like nothing is happening. I know there are some Christians that are flourishing but it appears that the wicked people are prospering more. You are perhaps questioning the abundant life that God promised us. You are also perhaps questioning the prosperous plans that was promised in Jeremiah 29:11. It looks impossible that these plans will come to fruition during your time on earth.
However, our time is not the same as God’s time but I will say this, that it is just a matter of time before you fulfil your purpose.
Remember that Jesus Christ was prophesied to be the Saviour of the World. However, he did not start his ministry until age 30.
Abraham was prophesied to be the Father of many nations but he did not become the father of Isaac until he was 100 years old.
You will be restored like Job – It is just a matter of time.
Job was a wealthy man, had a lot of livestock and had 10 children. His children died and he lost his livestock. Later Job was inflicted with sores. Despite his lost and his infliction and his friends and wife making fun of him, Job did not give up on God. Satan thought that Job was going to turn on back on God since he no longer had his wealth and children. Because Job remain faithful to God, God restored his health and double his livestock and had ten more children. Some of you are perhaps facing similar situations, you lost your job, you have lost family members and you are sick. Friends, endure your circumstances a little longer as it is just a matter of time before you are restored like Job.
Conclusion
If you have prayed, believed in God and have faith, then it is just a matter of time before your breakthrough comes through. The key ingredient is to be patient which is also not only part of the definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13 but also part of the fruit of the Spirit.
As you wait on time, just be careful. Do not turn to the left or to the right. Do not look back either with regrets. Look forward and stay in the word of God. It is just a matter of time.
