Are you tired and weary? Renew your strength in the Lord.

“but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Introduction

One thing we know is that the Lord will not grow tired and weary. It is us who will get tired and weary. Isaiah 40:30 states that even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall.

Therefore God knows that we will get tired and weary. Some of us are tired of working. You have been working for so long but cannot see any accomplishments. Some of us have been praying for something specific but we are getting tired because we do not see the physical manifestation of our answers. Some of us are being attacked spiritually and physically night and day and you feel tired and restless. You feel that you have lost all of your strength to withstand these attacks. However remember Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Your strength is renewed

It is natural to feel weak sometimes but if you wait and put your trust and hope in the Lord, the Lord will renew your strength. According to Isaiah 64:4 “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.” You see the Lord will work on our behalf. God will rescue us from the enemy. God will fight our battles. God will make all things possible. You just to have trust him. You may feel like you have been waiting too long. Do not get spiritually burned out. As you wait on the Lord, spend quality time with him through praying and reading his word. If you wait on the Lord, your strength will be renewed.

When your strength is renewed, you will feel powerful and motivated. When your strength is renewed, you can rise up, face and defeat the situations in your life. Do you remember the story of Samson?  Samson was so strong that he was able to tear a lion apart with his bare hands

Soar on wings like eagles

The eagles are considered to be some of the most powerful birds in the world.  During times of storm, the eagles do not run away, they soar to higher heights. Like the eagles, if you wait on the Lord, renew your strength, you shall soar on wings like eagles. Do not run away, as your situation will still remain the same. The best thing to do is to put your hope in the Lord and ultimately you will soar higher.

Run and not grow weary

Perhaps you are running from place to place seeking answers and you are growing wearing as you do not know what to do.  You are tired.

Run to God and when you run to God, he will provide you with spiritual strength and you will not grow weary. I know it is so easy to say run to God but the truth is when you surrender to God, read the word, you will be at peace for there are answers to every situation. You will increase your faith and develop patience waiting on the Lord.

Walk and not be faint

Recently, I started walking about 8 laps around the track at least five days a week and oh there are so many positive benefits of walking but it can be tiresome. I think if walk more than 8 laps, I may faint (God forbid). However, I know if I walk with the Lord, I will not faint. While you feel like you will faint in the physically realm, but in the spiritual realm, God will hold you up. However, we need to ensure that we eliminate our bad habits so that these habits will not be a weight on us otherwise we may end up fainting.

Conclusion

Naturally we will get tired and weary. You get tired and weary after exercising. You get tired and weary after working so hard. You get tired and weary of waiting.  However, two of the keys to success in Christianity is to have faith and patience despite how you feel or how things appear. Trust in God and believe in God so that your strength will be renewed.
