Cherish your time with your family and friends

Build everlasting memories

It is amazing how time appears to be moving so fast. In the next two months, we will be in the year 2022. Because time is indeed moving fast, cherish your time with your family and friends. This is not the time to be mad with your family and friends as tomorrow you may be wake up and get the news that your family and friends have passed away.

Many years ago, we only used to hear about the death of older people and quite frankly they died at a very old age. Of course, there were some young people who died but not as frequent as it is now.

Nowadays, the young and the old are dying so fast. Some of us did not have an opportunity to reconcile with our family and friends. Some of us filled with guilt. However, if we build everlasting memories with our friends and family, despite us grieving for them, we can have a great time reflecting on the memories we shared with them.

Stay Connected

Call your family and friends often. Don’t let a week go by without contacting your close family and friends. Reach out to them and let them know you love them and you are thinking about them. Don’t call people only when you need them for something, call them because you want to hear their voice and because you care. Sometimes, that call may be the last time you spoke with your relatives and friends. Don’t take life for granted. Too many have received bad news about the death of family members especially since COVID 19 emerged.

The good news is you can connect for as little as nothing through whatsapp, zoom, messenger, facebook and other social media. With the advancement of technology, you don’t have to travel to another destination to see your friends. Embrace this opportunity. Now some people may not reach out to you but don’t be like them, you take the initiative and try to stay connected.

Get together

Sometimes just take a break and plan a get together with your friends and family. Go for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even take a road trip. Have a lot of fun when you get together and take a lot of pictures and videos for memories. Too many of us are so preoccupied with our jobs in that we are spending more time on the job with your coworkers then we are with family and friends. When you die, you will be replaced so take some time and spend it together with your family and friends. Have family and friendship reunions. Time is precious.

Don’t take time for granted

Don’t take time for granted. Use your time wisely to build precious memories with your family. I know we live in a busy world and everyone is working hard to make ends meet but what are you working hard for if you don’t have the time to spend with your family and friends. Some people have died unexpectedly and many of us live with regrets because we did not spend adequate time with them. Don’t take time and life for granted for we do not know what tomorrow may bring and time does not wait on anyone or anything. We wait on time.

I don’t think anyone wants their family and friends to leave them but unfortunately that is part of life. However, their memories that you have with them will help you through your grieving process. Grieving is a long term journey and some people never get over it but if you have memories, it will make a significant difference. Therefore, build everlasting memories and cherish the time with them.
