Introduction
The word of Lord says in John 10:10 “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” The word also says in Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know that the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
These are two of the many promises that God has provided to us. Mediate on these daily and be confident of your worth so that you do not settle for less. Some of you may have some possessions that you need to sell so that you can have some finances but do not settle for less. Always price higher than what you want so there is room for negotiation and there is an opportunity to get desired price you want.
I hope after reading this article you are inspired to aim for more and be the best. It is just a matter of time.
Relationships
Some of you are in an abusive relationship. Some of you are in a relationship with someone who has relations with other persons. Some of you are being treated so mean. However, you remain in this relationship because you have invested so many years and don’t want to feel like a failure. Step out because you deserve more. Do not settle for less.
Some of you want to get marry and because you wanted to get marry so desperately, you ended up marrying the person that you knew you should not marry ultimately resulting in a failed marriage.
Remember the story about Jacob, Leah and Rachel. Jacob fell in love with Rachel and wanted to marry her, but he was tricked, and Leah became his wife. However, he refused to settle just for Leah so he worked and married Rachel. Of course, I am not here to promote divorce because in Jacob’s era, he could have married more than one wife. In our era, there is one man, one wife.
The point I am making is do no settle for less even if it means remaining single.
Career or Job Opportunity
Some of you are on a job that is beneath your pay scale and experience. You are there because you need a job and that is all that was available at that time. You should know what you are worth and never settle for any job. Settle for what you want otherwise you may be stuck in your current position for a very long time.
Health
Some of you have received some bad reports from the doctor. Because of this report, you have settled for what one doctor has told you. Always get a second opinion. In fact, seek the Lord. He can heal you from that sickness. If you are a child of God, he wants you to be healthy so do not settle for the report of the doctor. God can do all things.
Politics
Do not settle for the mediocrity performance by our politicians. It is you that determine whether they will represent you in the House of Assembly. It is your vote that got them there. Your vote is worth so much, but we continue to accept the fancy speeches as performance. We continue to accept the construction of hotels as performance. We continue to accept the pavement and building of roads as their performance.
You are worth more than this. Their performance should be based on how you as an individual has developed from inequality to equality, from an employee to an employer and an entrepreneur.
Conclusion
Do you remember God promised Abraham that he would be a father of many nations? However, because of their age, it looked impossible for this so Sarah settled for less by allowing her maid to sleep with Abraham resulting in the birth of Ishmael. Ishmael was not the one for this purpose. The plan was and has always been through Isaac whom Abraham and Sarah eventually became parents at ages 100 and 90 respectively.
Be patient. Be confident and know your worth. You shall be the head and not the tail. You shall be above and not beneath.
