Introduction
Because of our nationalities, titles and positions in society, we think of ourselves very highly and many times we remind people of our authority and position in life. Because of these positions, we are considered VIP (Very important Person) and we want to be at the front of all events to reflect our status. On the other hand, because of some of us are considered to be in “low positions” in society we are referred to as “small fry”. I remembered a few years ago, a leader in a particular church invited me to a church event and when I arrived, he said I am invited you as the CEO of Cable & Wireless, not as a deacon and I want you to sit there.
If you are a Christian, your life will reflect who you are and you do not need to tell people who you are. Furthermore, because you are a child of God, you need to remember who you are. You are a child of the King.
You are Joint Heir with Christ.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. (Romans 8:17 NIV)
If you are a Christian, you are child of God, you are joint heir with Christ and you are no longer a slave to sin. You are part of the family of God and as a result you can have a relationship and access to God. God is available to you 24/7. He will not leave your nor will he forsake you. He will direct you and guide you as you walk through this journey call life. You are loved by God.
You are protected.
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And their righteousness is from me. Says the Lord. “Isaiah 54:17 NJKV
No matter what anyone try to do you, they will not be successful. It will not work because you are protected by God. You do not have to physically fight your battles, God will do it on your behalf. Because of who you are, there is no need to be afraid for God has not given you a spirit of Fear. There is no need to worry or fret about evil doers for you are protected.
You are powerful and a very important person
“The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.” Deuteronomy 28:13 NIV
The word said greater is he that is in you then he that is in the world. Therefore you are powerful. In fact, you have power to overcome the enemy. You are the Head and not the tail. You are above and not beneath. You are the lender and not the borrower. You can get whatever you need from God. You have power to get healed from God and to heal others in Jesus name. If you follow the word of God, success will be on your side.
Conclusion
If people of the world can have confidence knowing who they are because of their status in society, then you should be confident of who you are with your position in Christ. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. You will be victorious and a conqueror because of who you are. The enemy has already been defeated because of our great God. Don’t mind the noise in the market, just remember who you are in God. Stop focusing on your nationality, title, and prominent position in society.
