Introduction
There are many critics who will try to discourage you from celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ because it is not the date of his birthday. While we do not know the exact date of his birth, we know that he was born and so let us celebrate and praise the Lord for his birth.
Many also argue that it is a pagan holiday as there is no reference of celebration of his birth in the Bible. Do not get caught off guard my friends. When Jesus was born, a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel praising God. The shepherds also praised and worshipped God for the miraculous birth of Jesus. Therefore, let us continue to praise his birth.
Why was Jesus Born?
It was over 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ was born. Jesus was born because of the love that God had for us. God knew that people would perish because of their sins therefore he intervened by allowing the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus eventually died but rose again. However, he died to save us from our sins. Isn’t this the best gift that we can ever receive?
Accept this Gift
If you accept the Lord as your personal saviour, you will have eternal life. Yes, a time will come when we will die physically on this earth but Oh when God returns and you are one of those that accepted this gift, you will live forever.
If you do not accept this Gift and you continue to live a sinful life, then you will end up in hell burning in fire asking God to save you but it will be too late. It is not too late now though. I know many people say they are not ready as yet to give their life to God because they are enjoying the desires of the flesh such as sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies and like.
How to Accept this Gift?
This gift is free. It does not cost you anything. All you have to do is invite Jesus Christ in your life through prayer. If you are not sure what to say, just say Father, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that you sent your son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. Therefore, I ask you right now to come into my life as I want you to be my saviour. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
How to Keep this Gift?
In order to keep this gift, I encourage you to stay in the word and ensure that you find a place to worship. You may get discourage sometimes because you may find yourself being tempted and tried. You may think all the issues in your life will go away instantly because you accepted the gift of Jesus Christ. Based on my experience, your issues that you had prior to becoming a Christian will not be resolved immediately. Of course, nothing is impossible with God but you have to learn to trust God that he will deliver you from the issues in your life. Know that the Devil will not be happy with you and so he will harass you and remind you of your past. Stay focused knowing that the trials you will face are temporary. Think about the eternal life you will received in the end. Resist the Devil and he will Flee.
Celebrate this Gift
Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by praising, thanking and worshipping God. Do not get caught up in Santa and other celebrations. Go to church and worship with others. Have devotions and family dinner with your family and ensure that they understand the real reason for Christmas. Some of you may not have any money to buy a gift for friends, children or other family members. Don’t you know that you have the greatest gift already which is the birth of Jesus Christ?
Conclusion
The birth of Jesus Christ is the best gift to Humankind. Because of the birth of Jesus Christ, Humankind has an opportunity to have an eternal life but we have to accept the Lord as our personal saviour. IF you accept him, the Holy Spirt will dwell within you. All you have to do is walk by Spirit and live by the Spirit.
