Introduction

Nowadays so many individuals and institutions are coming up with all sorts of doctrines and philosophies to distract you from the Truth which is the word of God. Of course, there is nothing new under the sun because the Devil tried to tempt Jesus Christ.

If the Devil tried to tempt Jesus Christ, don’t you think he will try to do the same thing to you and me.  Despite Jesus being hungry having fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, Jesus was able to resist the Devil and overcame the temptation by declaring to the Devil what was written.

As children of God and as we enter 2019, we must remain firm in our faith and one way to do so is to equip ourselves with the word of God for the word of God is our weapon and our protection. When you are face with any situation, good or bad always declare what is written in the Word of God.

It is written that Man shall not live by Bread alone but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God

Have you found yourselves so preoccupied with the food you eat and the jobs you have that you have neglected the word of God? Sooner of later, we become weak in our walk with God and fall off guard and end up giving up to temptation. However, the word reminds us that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded our the of the mouth of God.  The Word of God has everything in that we need to live by. It is our guide and direction and if we adhere to the word, we can overcome anything or anyone.

It is Written that You are the Head and Not the tail, above and not beneath, lender and not borrower

The word of the Lord said if we obey his word, he will set us high above the nations. This is exemplified in the story about Joseph and the story about Daniel.  You too will be promoted just continue to obey the word of God. The word further states that you shall be above and not beneath. You shall be lender and not the borrower. Declare these words throughout the day each day.

It is written that No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper

Isaiah 54:17 states that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgement, you shall condemn.

I know many of you are so concern about people that are forming weapons against you. It is natural to feel concern. Rest assure that whatever they try to do to you will not prosper. Your antidote for this is not fight evil for evil but to put on the full armour of God. If you put on the full armour of God, you can stand against the devil schemes.

It is written Do Not Be Afraid

Many of us face so many fears in our lives to the point that we are living a life of fear. However, it is written that we should not be afraid for the Lord thy God is with us wherever we go. There is no need to be afraid no matter what you are facing in life. Being afraid will not resolve your situation so you  might as well believe on the Lord.

If the Lord is with you, then why do you have to be afraid. There is no power greater than the power of God. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. It is written that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.  Then exercise this spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Luke 10:19 states that “Behold I have given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

It is written that you may have life and have it more abundantly.

God wants you to have an abundant life. God does not want to destroy you. He wants to enhance your life. The word said that God has plans to prosper you not harm you but plans to give you hope and a future. It is the enemy that wants you to destroy you. God is a good God. Just like a parent wants the best for their children, God wants the best for his children. Therefore, see ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

Conclusion

The Bible has been proven to be the most reliable book. Whatever you need to know it is in the Bible. Do not let anyone fool you with anything else. I know some times you want things right away and so you may be tempted to follow the ways of the Devil for a quick turnaround. Be patient and wait on the Lord. His word never fails. Therefore, be grounded in the word. Study the word and use it as your guide for survival in this world. You will not regret it.
