A healthier, wealthier and more spiritual year

Introduction

In 2024, some people encountered so many blessings while some other people have experienced so many hardships. Of course, there are some people who have experienced a bit of both worlds.  We cannot change anything that has happened to us in the past, but we can change our mindset and hope for a better 2025. With that said, Happy New Year everyone and here is my wish list for 2025.

Turn to God

There are so many issues in this world, and I believed that these issues can be resolved if we turn to God and live according to his word. Or course we face trials and tribulations, but they are temporary. Therefore, my first wish is for us to turn to God. If we turn to God and follow his greatest commandment to love one another, it will alleviate so many issues.

Discover your purpose

I know many people still do not know their purpose. I hope in 2025, you will discover your purpose. Rest assured though, that you do have a purpose. It is right within you and it is something that you love doing.

Better health

I believe almost every family has a family member who has health issues. I believe one of the sources of bad health is our diet. My second wish is for us to be healthy, and we can do so through the food we consume. Some of you may think there is no turning back because of the stage that you are in, however, no matter what stage you are in, believe that your health can be better. There are so many families affected by cancer and I hope in 2025 a cure can be found for cancer.

Better Financially

2024 has had a toll on many of us financially. My wish is that all of us improve financially. However, it will require a lot of effort on our part. You need to set goals and from those goals establish a budget.  Have a plan to put aside something each month. Control yourself and do not compare yourself to anyone else. If you can achieve this, you can be better financially.

More entrepreneurs

Despite the noise in the market, I believe there are great opportunities for more of us to become entrepreneurs. We should love what we do, and we should have a business plan in place to guide you in the process. Take the risk. The game change in our country is to become successful business owners.

Improvement in our relationship with one another.

We are not making a lot of progress because we are too divided. If only we could open our eyes and realize that we need to come together, our country would be a better place. Therefore, one of my wishes is for us to put aside our political differences and our nationality differences and unite and work and invest together. Let us stop focusing on locals and foreigners. Let us stop focusing on PNP or PDM. Let us focus on coming together to build a better Turks and Caicos.

Reduction in crime

For the size of our country, there are too many crimes. I know some argued and said oh it comes with development. I don’t buy into this concept at all. The Cayman Islands are very developed, and they do not experience what we are experiencing. Therefore, my wish list is for a significant reduction in crime and that the Police can catch the criminals and have enough evidence to convict them in court. I also wish that the minds of individuals be transformed so that they do not pursue criminal activities.

Reduction in inflation

Throughout the world, individuals are faced with inflation. I wish in 2025 there is a reduction in inflation so that people can afford to get what they need, and they will have more disposable income to invest in investment properties.

Eradication of the shanty towns

There are too many shanty towns in our country. While an Informal Settlement Unit has been established to deal with them, my wish is to see more evidence of the removal of shanty towns in our country.

A clean up of illegals

There are too many illegal people in our country. My wish list is that we only have legal people residing in our country in 2025 and beyond. We need some drastic and harsh measures to accomplish this.

Stop spreading rumours and assassinating the characters of individuals.

We spread too many rumours in 2024. We even fabricated stories about individuals and in so doing we assassinated their characters. My wish for 2025 is that we put an end to this.

More helpers and mentors

Another wish is that there will be more helpers and mentors in 2025.  I am not asking you to provide handouts but to be a guide and mentors for others. Some people just need directions.

A better attitude

I pray that we all have a better attitude in that we treat people the way we want to be treated. This requires us to be kind, friendly and have a customer service oriented attitude which leads to the next wish.

The economy continues to bloom.

My final wish is that our economy continues to bloom. Tourism is our main industry and it is very competitive but I wish that we continue to experience continuous in tourism. I also wish that we see a revolution in the offshore industry so that we do not totally depend on tourism for survival.

Conclusion

I believe my wish list is realistic. It may require some out of the ordinary actions to be done. However, the list is achievable. I wish all of you the best in 2025. I pray that you become happier, wealthier and more spiritual.
