See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Luke 11:35

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12
Introduction
The eye plays a very important part of your relationship with God. You eye is the lamp of the Body. It is your eye that can cause you to be in darkness or in the light. The eye can lead you to darkness if you chase after useless and evil things or other people’s partners. The eye can lead you to the light of God if you seek after the things of God.
Today we live in a world that is full of darkness and as a result many of us are getting in trouble because we are blind spiritually. However, if you can only open your eyes and let the light of Jesus shine in your pathway, you will not walk in darkness.
The World is Dark
The world is dark because people are walking away from God and doing whatever their minds or feelings tell them to do. Churches are breaking up and fighting over whether or not to allow same sex marriages. All countries are being pressured to legalized same sex marriages. The world is full of greed and some people will do anything to get more wealth even if it means killing or destroying others. The world is becoming less patient and want rapid results and so they seek other Gods for answers and luck. There is an increase in molestation especially the involvement of our young boys and girls. People are being allowed to abort unborn babies even in the third trimester of pregnancy. People are worshipping and praising Satan publicly. Overall, there is an increase in spiritual attack by the enemy that is causing so much confusion and disorder thus creating a world full of darkness.
God is the Light of the World
Despite this dark world we live in, there is always hope because God is the light of the World. God can provide you with a beacon of light that outshines this dark world. In the book of 1 John 1:7, it states that “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship, with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sins.
Many times, we wander all over the place seeking solutions to the problems in the world. However, all we need to do is put on the armour of light of God. While you will be faced with many temptations, the Light of God will provide a way for you to overcome this dark world. You can overcome the desire to gratify your flesh. You can shine brightly in this dark world because of God. I challenge all of us to share this light with others so that they too can be knowledgeable about God for Jesus is the way.
Conclusion
God is indeed the light of world. In fact, God created light from the creation of the world as darkness was all over the world at that time. Today, we have a different kind of darkness in this world as described above. The devil thinks he is controlling this world, however, the things that are now taking place are evidence that these are the last days. Keep your eyes on the light of God. Therefore, I will conclude with Matthew 5:16 “let you light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in Heaven.
