There is a season and time for everything.

Chained up money

There is a season and time for everything.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiates 3:1

.

Introduction

Even though we only have one main weather season in the Turks and Caicos which is summer, however, there are certain times of the year when we know it will get really cool like around November and December and then of course June to November is considered the Hurricane Season.

In the USA, there are four weather seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter and everyone knows dates when these seasons are expected to occur and last.

Like the weather seasons, we are faced with different seasons of economic cycles namely boom, recession, slow down and recovery. I know sometimes we want the economy to boom all the time but based on past experiences there will times of high season and times of low season just like our tourism season is from November to April. I remembered growing up on the island of South Caicos, things were really rough as sometimes we only had bread and butter and sweet n water for lunch. Today we are eating out almost each day and many times we are wasting and refusing food.

You see there is nothing new under the sun. The Bible clearly states that there is a season and time for every purpose under the heaven.  You will encounter some difficult times and go through some dry and low seasons. Be patient and do not take short cuts for your wet and high season will come. Do not envy others because their season is here. Your season and time will come too. Do not give up. You will not always be down. One day your season will come and you will arise.

Be Prepared

We know that seasons will come and so we must prepared ourselves whenever they come. In Genesis 41, based on Pharaoh’s dreams, God revealed that there will be seven years of abundance in Egypt followed by seven years of famine. As a result, food was stored and placed in reserves to be used when the famine took place in order to prevent any shortages in Egypt.

The Hurricane Season is upon us, be prepared by following all the instructions given. The winter season in North America starts on December 21st, be prepared and get winterized. The economy is booming now but be prepared for a slow down so start saving now and be careful of your spending habits. Things will not always remain the same.

Jesus Christ is coming soon so be prepared by accepting him as your Lord and Saviour. The scripture says there is a time to die and it is appointed unto man once to die. I know no one really prepares for death but you must prepare your soul because once you have die, you cannot get saved. We have been warned of the last times and these times are here so be prepared.

Seasons change

Seasons do not last forever.  This is just a part of life. Whatever you are experiencing is temporary and seasons will change. Only God does not change

Because you know seasons change, it is just a matter of time when your season will take place.  Don’t get too comfortable in the high current season and don’t look down on others who are currently in a low season. Sometimes when people lost a job, others are rejoicing but these individuals can be restored. Read the story about Job.

Sometimes our politicians and their supporters think their party will be in power for ever but seasons change. Therefore treat people right and fairly no matter their political persuasion.

In TCI, things were so bad in the 1950s and 1960s that many families migrated to the Bahamas for survival. Today some of the descendants of those families are migrating to TCI. Seasons do change.

Despite the changes in seasons, God will always be there to take you through the seasons. Trust him and stop being afraid.

Conclusion

I believe all of us are aware of the fact that there is a time and season for everything. However, whenever the time comes especially if it is a dry season, we panic. Remember the situation you are currently in, you have been through it before and you came out successfully.

Be prepared at all times and remember seasons come and seasons go. There is a time for everything.
