When you focus on the good, the good gets better

Things will get better – Have faith

Introduction

“Things will get worse before they get better” is a popular saying that many people believe. Because we believe that things must get worst first, then things will get worst. Many times, the outcome of our situations depends on what we believe in. I am challenging and encouraging to believe that things will get better.

I do not subscribe to that popular saying. Things do not necessarily have to get worse before they get better.  Based on the word of God, I do believe that all of us will face trials and tribulations. I also believe that whatever circumstances we encounter in life are temporary. I further believe that God has plans to “prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Finally, I believe that God will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly.

With the aforementioned, I know things will get better. You got to believe that things will get better. I know some of you may say I have not been in your position so how do I know things will get better. I may not be in your exact state but I have been down in the pits and God brought me up. There were times when I thought I was going to lose my mind but things got better. There were times when I thought I was going to die soon but things got better. There were times when I thought we would have to close our businesses but things got better. There were times when I thought God was not hearing my prayers and I felt like giving up but things got better. There were times when we had little or no cash but things got better. There were times when I felt insignificant and inferior but praise God, thing have gotten better.

The improvement in your situation is linked to your faith. No matter how things look now, you got to believe that things will get better. No matter how long you have been in that situation, you got to believe that it will get better and you will come out of it soon.

Have Faith

According to Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” I know sometimes it is very hard to maintain your faith during times of trials and tribulations.  You may get weak in your faith and start doubting that things will get better especially when there appears to be no solutions in sight. You see that is what faith is all about. You do not have any evidence that things will get better but you are believing and trusting in God that things indeed will get better. You do not know when but you know it will take place. That is faith. Once you have faith, you can then react positively to your situation and the outcome will be favourable.

Do you remember for more than a year, the world was faced with COVID 19? Well we are still in the era of COVID 19 but things are getting better especially here in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Many will give credit to the vaccine and while the vaccine may play a part, it is our faith in God that brought us this far.

Do you remember Job endured suffering and loss his children and wealth? I cannot imagine losing any of my children. Despite his losses, Job believe and things got better for Job.

Do you remember how life was like growing up in the Turks and Caicos? I don’t think anyone imagine at that time things would getter better for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Conclusion

I hope by now you believe that things will get better for you. Therefore, stop focusing on your negative situation that you are going are through for it will come to an end and things will be better for you. You may experience the loss of a high paying job. You may experience a mental breakdown.  You may experience a health crisis. No matter what your experiences are, things will get better. However, we have to do our part by not doubting and not being contrary to the word of God.
