Why are you fighting?

Who is it for? What is it for?

Introduction

There is so much fighting going on. Some of these fights are necessary and I believe some of these fights are uncalled for. However, if you believe in something and you want to achieve something, those fights that I deem are unnecessary may be necessary for you. Before you start fighting or even while you are fighting, challenge yourself with these questions. Why are you fighting? Who is for? What is it for?

For those of you who are not fighting, I want you to ask yourself the question, why are you not fighting? Of course, fighting does not have to be a physical fight. A physical fight is something that I avoid at all means and I encourage you to do the same.

You can fight for something or someone in many ways, but some basic ways are by speaking up, by making a difference in the lives of others, by ensuring that there is justice and equality for others and by standing up for what you believe in.

Why am I fighting?

I ask myself these questions listed above. I am fighting because I want people to know the truth and they can decide based on the information that I have provided them. I am fighting because I want this generation and the next generation to be equipped with knowledge. I am fighting because I am tired of seeing others fighting based on inaccurate information. I am not saying that all of my information is 100% accurate but I try to make sure it is. I am also fighting because more people should be fighting but too many of us seem uninterested. I am fighting because I want people to move away from political polarization. I am fighting because I want people to open their eyes and see others as children of God and not as black or white, poor or rich or as local or as a foreigner.

So why are you fighting? Who is it for?  What is it for?

Why are you fighting?

It disturbs me so much when I observe all the fighting that is going on. As you have already established by reading the beginning of this article, there is nothing wrong with fighting. Many things were achieved in your life or in this world because of your desire to have something and you ended up fighting for it.

However, when individuals are fighting one another over politics, it destroys us as a people. It divides our already small population. Why do we waste our time fighting over politics? Is it because of our loyalty to the political party? Is it because we want something? Is it that we really believe we are doing something good by fighting over politics. We have got to put our country over politics. Open your eyes and realize and these systems were designed to create fights. Is that what you want?

Then you have family members fighting and sometimes the fight is based on a simple misunderstanding. Of course, from time to time, family and friends will fight but when he is fighting reaches a point where it has destroyed your relationship as a family or friend, then that is unfortunate and not necessary at all. Family must live as family and support one another. We have got to do better, especially in TCI where everybody is basically related.

People are also fighting over race. This is one of the worst and most ignorant fights in the world. People were killed because of racism. People were treated less than a human being because of racism. People were denied the right to interact with others because of race. It is unfortunate this fight continues to wreak havoc in our world.

There is a lot of injustice going on in this world and this is something that we must fight for. Justice must be equal to all. Justice should not be blind.

People are taking short cuts and destroying our environment. We must fight to protect our environment.

Conclusion

I encourage you to fight but be conscious of what battles you assume. Each time you are about to fight ask yourself do I really need to fight this one? Likewise, if there are pressing issues and no one is fighting, ask yourself why you are not fighting.

I know many of us are preoccupied with our lives, but others fought for us and that is why we are where are today. Let us do our part and fight for what is right and stop fighting for what is not right.
